The goal of UX Design is to improve user’s experience for any products that they use. These are some UX design fails what we should take a look and learn from them.
- The unsent/deleted message
WhatsApp and Facebook make it more suspicious than if you had just sent the message. The second pic is taken this morning 12/21 from Facebook Messenger.
They can just notify the senders before they delete anything, so that senders can avoid sending at the first place or just show that deleted note to the senders only.
2. Apple Storage Management System
I remembered seeing this image few years ago. I understand that users would want to throw their iPhones a way if they see this. As Apple users, we hate to be controlled when trying to take pictures. At least, give us some options such as what we need to do or how many pictures we should delete in order to take more pictures. Just give us options—Apple.
3. The Resetting Password Form
Only a few days ago, I was applying for a job at a well-known company and I couldn’t login because I forgot my password. As a result, I requested to reset my password and I saw this similar form.
Job searching during Covid-19 time is frustrating but this form makes me even more frustrated than before. There is no way to see if my password is qualified or failed based on the requirement lists. Now I know why the company is hiring more UX designers.
4. Super-long Drop Down Menu
Design rule — “Avoid Drop-Downs When There Are More Than 10 or Fewer Than 5 Options”
We are seeing this long drop down menu at most websites. This gives users long time consuming to select the option that they want. I also noticed that some sites are adding a text entry field so that it can suggest you some options based on what you typed as the picture below.
